Defending the skies over the south coast is never easy.  Attacking Britain's Home Counties though, there's a task in itself and is always a gamble.  When Bf109s, Hurricanes and Spitfires tangle, there will always be Blood Red Skies.

Andrew Curtis and Nick Kirkland's Bf109Es took on a couple of squadrons of Hurricanes and Spitfires led by Dale "El Presidente" Jones and Colin "The Commodore" Smith.  This was a nailbiting game that could have gone either way many times; even El Presidente was holding back (very unlike him).  Despite being new to the game, young Kirkland soon got the hang of playing tactical cards at opportune moments (CURSE YOU FOREVER HERR KIRKLAND) stopping Jones' Hurricanes from regaining advantage EVERY FLIPPING TIME.  Great skills there, Nick.

Ultimately though, the robustness of the British Hurricanes and the agility of the Spitfires paid off.  Hunting in packs and getting on the tails of the poor Germans was the order of the day and although the Germans were getting the shots in, the Dice Gods were just not with them and they missed a LOT of shots.  It must have been "take your kids to work day" at the Luftwaffe's armoury section, and they let the kids load the machine guns with chocolate.

Nevertheless, it took the RAF a while to get Jerry to back off and go back home but show them the door we did in a last-minute bit of tailing by Colin.  (This was a huge relief to Dale as his aircraft were strung out and surrounded by angry Bf109s).
